If I were looking for a hearing aid store, I’d choose Allied Hearing Aid Specialists. Why? As Elizabeth Barrett Browning would say, “Let me count the ways.” 1. EXPERIENCE There's just no substitute for the knowledge and expertise gained through years of hands-on practice and I’ve been fitting hearing aids since 1986. 2. AVAILABILITY Part-time offices are fine until your hearing aid fails and you have a wedding to attend tonight, that’s when you realize that a 5-day per week office is essential. So while some offices around town can only help you on Tuesdays and Fridays, Allied Hearing Aid Specialists have your back. 3. LOCALLY OWNED It is becoming increasingly more difficult to find products and services that are not owned by some giant company headquartered in another state, or maybe even another country. At Allied Hearing Aid Specialists, we LIVE here. We’re FROM here. We spend our money here. Buying hearing aids from us benefits our LOCAL economy, not Chicago’s or Denmark’s. 4. PRICE When I buy something, price is important. If I can get the exact same thing for less money, that’s where I’ll shop. At Allied Hearing Aid Specialists, we can get the exact same hearing aids as the “name brand” stores have but because we don’t have the same expenses they do, we are are almost always less expensive. 5. EASY ACCESS Our office offers dedicated parking within 10 feet of our entryway. There are no steps to climb or no curbs to negotiate. 6. OWN BUILDING Our office was built in the early 1970s and recently remodeled, but I have to admit it’s not as fancy as many of our competitor’s offices who rent the newest and best offices. But those offices are expensive and the cost is passed on to you in the price of your hearing aids. Personally, I’d rather save money and do business at the older office. 7. NON-COMMISSIONED Sometimes money motivates people to do things based on their own needs rather than the needs of the patient. Large companies often pay on commission, have quotas, and have managers who “encourage” their employees to upsell and generate more revenue. Of course, we also have to make money to stay in business, but we believe if we just "Treat others as you would like to be treated", making a living will take care of itself. 8. WALK-IN FRIENDLY Believe it or not, some hearing aid offices refuse to serve their patients without an appointment. Huh? That’s crazy. At Allied Hearing Aid Specialists, appointments are preferred, but guess what, some of our patients don’t hear well on the phone which makes calling for an appointment a difficult endeavor. So we have a rule: “If you walk in without an appointment and we’re not already with a patient, we’ll drop whatever we’re doing and help. However, if you come by without an appointment and we’re not here or we’re with a patient you can’t get mad at us.” Fair enough?
